Star Wars Unlimited Pack EV — Every Set Ranked by Margin

Star Wars Unlimited launched in March 2024 with Fantasy Flight Games behind it and has kept a steady multi-set-per-year cadence since. Every set uses the same 16-card booster: two rare slots that each upgrade to a Legendary about 8% of the time, and one foil slot where Showcase variants — the game's top chase — appear roughly 3% of the time. That uniform structure makes SWU unusually easy to compare set-to-set: the packs are the same machine, so the differences come almost entirely from what the singles inside are worth.

The table below ranks every SWU set we track by rip margin — pack EV from live TCGPlayer prices, minus a roughly 15% haircut for selling fees, measured against the current pack price — refreshed every two hours. The honest summary: most SWU sets return less than they cost to open, the 2024 sets in particular, with the occasional newer exception where a strong Legendary tier meets a soft pack price. Pull rates are community estimates, not official numbers. Click any set for full slot odds and the current chase board.

FAQ

How is Star Wars Unlimited pack EV calculated?

We model the SWU pack as its three value slots — two rare slots and a foil slot — multiply each rarity's community-estimated pull chance by the average live TCGPlayer market price of that rarity's cards in the set, and add the slots together. Prices come from a live TCGPlayer feed, so EV shifts as the market does.

What is the fee haircut applied to margins?

Roughly 15%. Margin figures assume you'd sell your pulls on a marketplace, so we trim about 15% off raw EV for selling fees and shipping before comparing it to the pack price. Raw EV without the haircut would flatter every set.

How often is the price data updated?

Every two hours. Pack EV, margins, and the chase-card tables all rebuild from fresh TCGPlayer prices on that cycle, which is why we avoid quoting fixed dollar figures in the page text.

Are Star Wars Unlimited pull rates official?

No. Fantasy Flight Games doesn't publish pull rates. The slot odds we use — like the roughly 8% Legendary chance per rare slot — are community estimates aggregated from recorded box openings, and we treat them as approximations.

Does positive EV mean I'll make money opening packs?

No. EV is an average over thousands of packs; the value concentrates in low-probability Legendary and Showcase hits, so most individual packs return less than they cost even in a positive-EV set. Fees, shipping, and time-to-sell eat into real returns too.
