Yu-Gi-Oh! is the rare TCG where ripping sometimes beats buying singles — but only in specific products. The all-foil Rarity Collection sets often price below the singles inside them, with fee-adjusted margins that swing from barely positive to a couple hundred percent as reprints and market cycles move, while standard core boosters mostly hover near break-even once fees are counted. This page ranks every Yu-Gi-Oh! set we track by current margin, computed from live TCGPlayer prices refreshed every two hours with a roughly 15% haircut for selling fees baked in.
A few ground rules before you sort the table: Konami publishes no official pull rates, so every model here runs on community estimates; positive EV is a long-run average, not a promise; and one Starlight Rare can make any box look like genius in hindsight. FAQ
How does Worth the Rip calculate Yu-Gi-Oh! pack EV?
We model every slot in a pack, multiply each rarity's community-estimated pull odds by the average live TCGPlayer market price of the cards in that rarity pool, and sum across all slots. Box EV is pack EV multiplied by the pack count, compared against the live sealed price.
Why do the EV figures look lower than raw card prices would suggest?
We apply a haircut of roughly 15% to card values to reflect what a seller actually keeps after marketplace fees and shipping. Raw EV without that haircut flatters every product and doesn't survive contact with a real sale.
How often does the price data refresh?
Every two hours. All prices, EV figures and margins on these pages come from live TCGPlayer data pulled on that cycle, so the verdict you see reflects the current market rather than a snapshot from launch week.
Are Yu-Gi-Oh! pull rates official?
No. Konami has never published pull rates for TCG boosters. Every rate on this site is a community estimate aggregated from large box-opening samples, and while the big patterns are consistent, individual figures carry real uncertainty.
If a set shows positive EV, will I make money ripping it?
Not necessarily. EV is a long-run average across many boxes; a single box can land far above or below it. Variance, bulk that never sells, condition issues and the time cost of selling all eat into the paper number. Positive EV means the odds are unusually fair — not that profit is promised.
